It’s been a while since the last time that I made a video.
This time I made a video about cracking pocket pc applications aka reverse engineering.
The first time I discovered this method I was so surprised that I couldn’t believe it my self! It is indeed very shocking that
handmark, a great game developer company has such a weak protection against hackers.
As I said in the video, you don’t really have to do this whole process of cracking the app so you can instead just download it ready from here:

Note that this dll is only for backgammon but all other handmark games can be cracked with the exact same method.

Cracking is illegal thus if you like the game you should buy it. Those programmers who made those games did a great job and they’ve put a lot of effort in them and I think they
deserve my money. I only did this for educational purposes and so should you. I don’t support warez although I must admit that I am forced to use it once in a while due to the fact that
not everyone can afford to buy some expensive programs like those that adobe or microsoft has.

I use Camtasia Studio 6 recorder and video editor to edit and render the video and I also use adobe after effects CS3 for some of the special effects.

Cracking is basically making the program work the way it’s not intended to be working or making the program not do some stuff that it should do. This is a simple way to explain what cracking is although there’s so much more theory to it.

Is this illegal?

As I said, doing this for educational purposes is absolutely not illegal. Think of it as if you accidentally found a dll file and just thought “why not change it’s values and see what happens?”. Would that be illegal? I don’t think that editing your own files is illegal.
