UNBOXING: HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion GPS

An unboxing and first impressions video of the HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion GPS. This GPS has a 4.3″, 800 x 480 pixel touch screen, Bluetooth, 2GB of storage, and even games! This is a very impressive GPS, and I’m looking forward to using it.

    It doesn’t accept …
It doesn’t accept third party apps, and it doesn’t work with Window Mobile Device Center. It’s not a Windows Mobile device – it’s a Windows CE-based GPS.

    This is HP’s …
This is HP’s attempt to break into the market that is dominated by the likes of Garmin. Hopefully the next version is better – this one had some promise, but it didn’t live up to what it should be.

As far as I know, the 3D maps feature works in any city that the GPS has mapping data for – which should include Toronto and Montreal…but since I can’t test it, I can’t really say 100% for sure.

This bears the name iPAQ, but it’s really just a GPS – it’s not a PDA, and you can’t load applications onto it. It does not have Word or Excel.

The price varies depending on where you buy it – I think the MSRP is about $349 USD, but you can get it online for around $280 USD.

    thats an awesome …
thats an awesome gps for the car of course i would say the best GPS for the car would be the newest streets and trips for PC cause it comes with the GPS reciever (also tells u altitude above sea level speed heading etc i used it in a commercial airplane and it mapped the flight route) but u have to use a laptop with it this is awesome for a dedicated GPS for a car cause it stylish and does more than just GPS unlike the other GPS out there
